Wow, One Push?

I got a phone call from a doting cousin who was expecting her new baby girl cousin any day. She wanted to offer a Baby's First Movie as a gift and planned to keep it a surprise for the parents until after the baby was born. Since she was also a support coach in the room, the job at hand should be easy. I had given her a list of shots to capture and some helpful tips and tricks. Now, as always, we wait. Everyone was convinced that since this was baby number three for mama, that things would roll along smoothly. Everyone was right!

The big day arrived and all the loved ones convened at the hospital. All the cameras were rolling and the flashes were flashing. In fact, Grandpa was double fisted with a video camera in one hand and a still camera in the other. Then the time came for mama to push and it's a good thing the cameras were ready (and no one was taking a trip to the vending machine),  because it only took one push to welcome baby McKenzie into the world. Way to capture the moment team! The delivery was steady and easy but the emotions in the room were as warm as anyone would expect. With everyone's help, we were able to pull together a beautiful story.

About a week later, after family members compiled their material and I did my baby movie magic, a link to Baby's First Movie was sent out to loved ones everywhere introducing the new little bundle of joy and it received 62 hits in the first 24 hours. That first night, my phone was buzzing with text updates on reactions from family members who had watched the movie. Tears, tears, smiles and more tears. Those are always fun text messages to get.

Welcome Baby McKenzie!
