Dawn's blog

Wow, One Push?

I got a phone call from a doting cousin who was expecting her new baby girl cousin any day. She wanted to offer a Baby's First Movie as a gift and planned to keep it a surprise for the parents until after the baby was born. Since she was also a support coach in the room, the job at hand should be easy. I had given her a list of shots to capture and some helpful tips and tricks. Now, as always, we wait. Everyone was convinced that since this was baby number three for mama, that things would roll along smoothly. Everyone was right!

Play Ball

So, I've spoken with enough mothers to know that babies never stop being babies. Ten years old and playing first base?...still a baby.

One day,  I got a call from a mother whose son was on a little league team. She was interested in having a video of one of her son's team games produced and I thought it was a great idea. It wasn't until I watched it with her for the first time that I realized how great of an idea it would actually be. Within seconds of watching her son hit a double, she was in tears.

My "First" Baby Movie

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good emotional movie or t.v moment. I cry when the son comes home unannounced on Christmas Eve and surprises his mother in the kitchen making a pot of Folgers coffee. Gets me every time. I love watching wedding videos for the heart twisting scene when the tearful father gives away his daughter. Personally, I'm someone that believes in capturing life's milestones and telling a story that can be shared and remembered. When I heard that my dear friend and bridesmaid in our wedding was having a baby, I knew what my gift would be.
